A Little About Me

My name is Arianna and I am teenager learning to navigate life.  I am an only child from a single parent household.  My background is Italian; yes we talk loud and Sunday dinner is still at 2pm, don't be late!  I have attended private and public educational systems and even considered boarding school.  My mom is strict but with a balance.  Her usual response when I ask to do something or ask for something  is "and why do you want to/want that?"  I have learned over the years 'because' is not the answer.

I have been competitively dancing for 9 years and even competitively figure skated for 3 years.  Taking both has taught me valuable life skills.  One, what you put in, is what you get out; hard work and practice-take pride in what you do.  Two, that it takes a team to win, just as in life it's not about you but the goal and everyone doing their part.  Third, that there is always going to people you do not necessarily agree with or even like but you need to learn how to get along and rise above.  And lastly, that with passion and integrity you can accomplish anything you set your mind to.

Now that I have ventured into high school, I have decided to use this time to explore other areas that interest me.  I participated in Varsity cheer leading my freshman and sophomore year, as well as soccer my sophomore year. Now I currently row and have big plans to continue this into my college years.

I enjoy discovering new ways to help improve the lives of others (I currently have something in the works-stay tuned).  I participated in the NKF of Michigan kidney walk this year.  While raising donations for the walk, I spoke to many people whose lives have been touched by kidney disease.  I also enjoy lending a hand at my church whether it's making lunches for those less fortunate or making greeting cards for patients in the hospital.  Becoming a productive member of a society I benefit from is a life skill that I can take with me into my future.

I hope that you enjoy my thoughts and views here.  And maybe even find a little inspiration.  I would like to thank my mom for her encouragement and my mentors for being there for me.  We can learn from each other if we just listen.
